How To Get Lily Collins’ Marie Claire January Coverlook

The key pieces you need to recreate Lily's 60s-inspired look.

We all love her from Emily in Paris (and who didn’t love Rules Don’t Apply) and covet her cool girl blend of Brit and LA style. So, needless to say, the marie claire team is beyond thrilled to have Lily Collins as this month’s cover star.

Shot exclusively for marie claire Australia by Beau Grealy in LA, Lily shows her feminine side, with a hint of cool girl edge on the January 2023 cover.

To highlight Lily’s distinct beauty and enviable brows, the Golden Globe winner and Lancôme ambassador looks heavenly with a ’60s vibe that springs from a winged eye, nude lipstick and a flawless complexion (you can get the look by applying Lancôme’s glow-inducing Teint Idole Ultra Wear foundation layered over the skincare brand’s cult-followed Génifique serum). On set, the waft of Lancôme La Vie Est Belle eau de parfum scented the air.

Lily has been ambassador for Lancôme since 2013 but her affinity with the beauty brand goes way back to when she was at school

“Brand loyalty is something that really resonates with me and for me it’s [important] that I am [the face of brands] I love and use,” says Collins to marie claire Australia. “I used Lancôme Juicy Tubes before I was even really allowed to wear makeup in Catholic school. I would use them as my lip balm. And the Lancôme mascara was one of the first mascaras I ever tried – it’s the one that I [still] use.”

To continue the dreamy cover look, Lily wears a stunning Christian Dior off-the-shoulder broderie-anglaise dress, and Saint Laurent heels, which look summer-fresh in the beautiful garden setting. In true Lily style, she keeps her cool-girl cachet with the addition of striking Panthere collection jewels by Cartier.

Lily, who officially joined the Cartier family in 2021, has a long-standing love for the esteemed French jewellery house, which harks back to her mother and father, actress Jill Tavelman and musician superstar Phil Collins. “My mom always wore Cartier watches growing up,” says Collins. “She had [a Cartier] men’s watch, which I remember being this chunky watch that I just always loved. My dad [wore Cartier] too.”

Being unafraid to show her different sartorial sides is why we can’t get enough of Lily – it’s also why we’re devouring series 3 of Emily In Paris.
