A great hairstyle just won’t have the wow factor if your hair health isn’t top notch. And keeping hair shiny, hydrated and manageable often comes down to the products you use.
“Choosing the right products can save you hours a day,” says Linda Flowers, a Hollywood hairstylist and ambassador for Hask, who counts Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Aniston as clients.
Here’s how to tackle the most annoying hair hassles.
Brassiness
“Blonde highlighted hair can become dry and brittle and look dull and brassy in tone,” says hairstylist and Hask ambassador Camille Friend, who has worked on sets including Charlie’s Angles, Captain America: Civil War and The Help. She recommends purple-toned haircare specifically designed to lift blonde and grey hair. “A purple undertone helps keep your blonde hair bright and shiny,” she says.

Coarseness
When locks become dry and coarse, they can be hard to manage and style. “Healthy hair will always hold your style longer and provide resilience in your hair’s performance,” says Flowers, who was the creative brains behind Katniss Everdeen’s iconic braids in The Hunger Games. She recommends a deeply nourishing shampoo and conditioner, such as Hask’s Monoi Coconut Oil collection, to boost hydration.
“It will give you noticeable improvement.” Apply a leave-in conditioner followed by a repair
cream if hair is particularly parched.

Limp and lifeless hair
If you find your hairstyle droops by lunchtime, your hair might need some extra TLC. Flowers suggests starting with a leave-in spray and a hair oil on the ends to “keep the hair healthy”. Once it’s on the road to recovery, keep it that way with a mask. “Hair masks should be used once a week to reset your hair and give you sexy, shiny, bounce.”

Frizz
Stylist and Hask ambassador Cheryl Marks’ go-to ingredient is argan oil. “It has so many positive attributes that benefit your hair,” says Marks, who has worked with Hollywood A-listers such as Elizabeth Banks, Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Elle Fanning. Try Hask Miracle Damage Repair Cream, which is able to fight frizz, strengthen weak bonds and protect against heat-induced frizziness.
Tangled curls
“Curly hair is always fighting dryness and/or frizz,” says Friend, who suggests “saturating”
the hair with a curl specific detangling conditioner, before combing through a curl-defining cream and mousse to increase “definition and volume”.
