Emma Stone got one. Zoe Foster-Blake has one. Jennifer Lawrence wore it to the Oscars. And now, Hollywood’s most covetable head of hair has done it too: iconic blonde Blake Lively has a perm.
Or at least, an enviable set of curls: the star stepped out at the Lorraine Schwartz jewellery launch in West Hollywood last night with a mass of tightly wound ringlets, her usually sleek and straight hair worn wild and free.
We first reported back in February that curls – and even curly fringes – are making a comeback. And you better believe it: even perms are back in fashion for those whose hair tends naturally towards the straighter side.
“‘We can now create softer, more natural-waved hand curls with a ‘natural perm’,” says Toni & Guy senior technician Dana Monkman. “The products are gentler so we don’t have the over-processed ‘poodle’ result we saw so commonly in the 80s.”
It’s the kind of curl Jennifer Lawrence has taken to wearing to all her red carpet appearances this year, as has Alison Brie, Montana Cox and a slew of Victoria’s Secret models. Want further proof? Find it here.
