She’s the face of Dior Beauty and one of the world’s most recognisable models, but Bella Hadid has faced her fair share of criticism for the way she looks. Growing up, she was bullied for having such distinct features; more recently, she’s faced persistent rumours of plastic surgery.
But it’s water off a duck’s back to Bella, according to a new interview with InStyle US.
“People think I got all this surgery or did this or that. And you know what?” she tells InStyle. “We can do a scan of my face, darling.”
“I’m scared of putting fillers into my lips,” she adds. “I wouldn’t want to mess up my face.”
Bella has attributed her changing face shape simply to growing up and growing into her features, combined with learning how to contour.
In the interview, she also revealed that she was teased at school due to the way she looked.
“I thought I had such a weird face,” she recalls. “I remember very distinctly getting bullied because of my features.”
She also opened up about comparing herself to her sister, model Gigi Hadid.
“I love them now, but I was always self-conscious because of my hips – where as my sister had a six-pack and was very athletic,” she says.
