Barbie month is officially upon us! The hotly anticipated Barbie film directed by Lady Bird’s Greta Gerwig will be out in cinemas later this month (July 20th). Set in Barbie Land, aka an idyllic pink set modelled after the original Barbie Dreamhouse, the film follows lead Barbie, Margot Robbie as she ventures into the real world to discover the joys and uncertainties of living among humans.
The film appeals to a wide array, with the tagline being “If you love Barbie. If you hate Barbie. This movie is for you.”.
The film has a star studded line-up including Australian actress Margot Robbie, America Ferreira, Emma Mackey, Issa Rae, Will Ferrell and Ryan Gosling, who has quite virally “channeled his kenergy”, to appear in the film as Ken.
