Aussie comedian Tanya Hennessy’s spoof make-up tutorial is comedy gold

“And now, here’s some clips of me being self-indulgent”

YouTube make-up tutorials have come to countless women’s rescue, showing us everything from how to get a foolproof winged eye to the perfect beachy waves, but sometimes, they’re just a bit much. Because as much as we’d love to complete a 27-step make-up application before work on a Wednesday morning, that’s just not going to happen.

Australian comedian Tanya Hennessy obviously feels the same way. As Stylecaster discovered, she’s posted her own, honest version of a make-up tutorial on YouTube – and it’s one that almost every woman can relate to.

She begins by using a M.A.C primer that “a lady sold me against my will,” before moving onto contouring “to give the illusion that I have one chin” and primer: “I don’t know what it is or what it does, but it was very expensive so I continue to use it.”

It’s worth watching to the end, not only for the final result, but for Hennessy’s pouting, selfie-style footage. Or as she calls it, “some clips of me being self-indulgent.”

Kudos to Hennessy for keeping it real (but if she’s reading, we explain the perks of primer here).
