Ash Barty wears many hats – the Australian tennis star has risen the ranks of some of the world’s toughest arenas, becoming the world No. 1 in women’s singles tennis, as well as being a proud National Indigenous Ambassador for Tennis Australia and passionate animal welfare advocate with RSPCA.
Now, the Aussie tennis great has added beauty advocate to her growing list of credentials. The tennis champ was announced as an esmi Skin Minerals ambassador, keeping in line what she’s always believed: being truly confident in your own skin.
“I am excited to join the esmi skin minerals team,” Barty says of the new partnership. “I love esmi’s passion for celebrating natural beauty and helping women feel confident. Doing a beauty shoot was definitely out of my comfort zone but I enjoyed it! Through our partnership, I hope I can help encourage women to believe in themselves and chase their dreams.”
The vegan skincare brand creates Australian made makeup and skincare, with formulations that are driven by a softer impact on not only the body but also the natural world. The company was also founded on a passion for ensuring every person knows the feeling of being truly confident in their own skin and to have that radiate throughout all aspects of their life, making their partnership with Ash all the more perfect.
Below, marie claire Australia chats with Barty about her beauty routine and why supporting Australian brands is so important, especially now.
What Is Your Go-To Beauty Routine When You’re In A Comp?
I keep things pretty simple, especially when I am on the road. My favourite products are Esmi’s cleanser, Hyaluronic hydrating skin treatment and 24K Gold Oil. My skin can take a beating after long flights and hours in the sun. These are my go-to products year-round to help my skin stay hydrated.
Why Is It Important For You To Advocate For Australian Brands Such As esmi?
Supporting Australian companies and our economy is so important, especially in these current times. Esmi is Australian made and owned and Evette’s story of how she built Esmi on the Gold Coast is inspiring. Working with a company who believe every person’s uniqueness is what makes them beautiful and aim to give women confidence was a no brainer for me.
This Time Has Certainly Been Challenging For Many – What Have You Been Doing To Keep Motivated?
I’ve been hitting a couple of times a week plus doing my fitness work. It has been tough not knowing when tournaments will resume but I’m doing my best to stay fit and healthy and be ready. The priority is to make sure everyone is safe and healthy before anything resumes. Although these times are challenging and uncertain, I have tried to appreciate the time at home with my family, something I don’t often get with my life on the road.
Your Words “Perspective Is A Beautiful Thing” Once Went Viral, How Do You Keep Yourself Living By That Mantra?
By remembering that tennis is only a game. If I win, great but if I don’t then everything will still be ok. If my family and friends are healthy and happy then that is the most important thing to me.
