French beauty house Guerlain have announced their latest celebrity partnership with none other than Angelina Jolie.
It’s not often that Ange fronts fashion and beauty campaigns, but the actress, director and humanitarian has just been appointed as the new face of the iconic label’s Mon Guerlain fragrance.
The project will mark her return to the spotlight following her recent split from Brad Pitt.
The partnership occurred while Jolie was multi-tasking, as the modern woman does, directing First They Killed My Father in Cambodia – the birthplace of her eldest son, Maddox.
Acting as a muse, the brand’s master perfumer, Thierry Wasser said he drew inspiration from Jolie to create a scent, which conjures: “the choices, emotions and dreams that embody modern femininity”.
Jolie hasn’t had any major beauty campaigns since 2007, when she was the face of Shiseido, and even then, it was exclusive to Asia only. However, her decision to align with the brand may have been a personal one, as Guerlain said her mother used the iconic powder when she was a child.
Ever the philanthropist, Ange has donated all proceeds from the campaign to an undisclosed charity, believed to the UN Refugee Agency or the Preventing Sexual Violence Initiative, due to her involvement with them.
The exact details of the fragrance remain a mystery, like Jolie herself, but it will debut in March.
