What is Australian fashion?
For the industry veterans and new wave of fashion fanatics flocking to Sydney’s Carriageworks for the week-long affair that is Afterpay Australian Fashion Week, Australian fashion only means one thing: high-octane style.
Despite the dreary weather, Australia’s style crowd gathered to celebrate over 64 designers’ return to the runway to present their resort collections.
Of course, the low temperatures and wet weather assisted in determining the dress code.
Suiting was the look du jour, with deconstructed tailoring the preferred ensemble. Structured suit pants were layered back with soft shirting, while blazers reigned supreme as the outwear of choice.
Dopamine dressing provided the perfect remedy for the grey skies, with pops of pepto-bismol pink, periwinkle and sorbet lemon scattered across the front row.
