Last month, beloved Australian basics brand Metalicus announced it was entering into voluntary administration and just a few weeks later, LIFEwithBIRD has announced the same.
The popular Australian label revealed overnight that after 16 years in the business, they are closing down.
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of LIFEwithBIRD over the coming weeks,” owners Nicholas Van Messner and Bridget McCall – sister of designer Alice McCall – wrote in an email to customers, SMH reports.
“We started by patternmaking on kitchen benches, packing orders and hand-tying swing tags at home.”
“In an industry that has changed so much, we feel we have given all we can and it is time to stand down and be open to new opportunities,” the email continued.
The news marks the third Australian fashion label to close since November 2017, when luxury label Lover closed its doors.
LIFEwithBIRD’s boutiques are shutting immediately with a clearance sale online now.
