With just days until Pippa Middleton’s extravagant nuptials to hedge fund manager James Matthews, an extraordinary installation has appeared in her parents’ garden: a huge glass marquee – we use the term lightly, for it looks bigger than a very big house.

Said to have space for around 350 guests, the marquee is thought to have been supplied by Belgian company PBI, who specialise in ultra-exclusive, no-budget-spared events.
One industry expert told Daily Mail he estimated it would have cost $174,000 to supply. That far exceeds the average costs of weddings in 2017 for the marquee alone.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will of course attend the wedding on the weekend, as will – after much speculation – Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
