Donald Trump has launched a scathing attack on Hillary Clinton, accusing the former first lady of “enabling” her husband Bill’s infidelity.
At a rally in Spokane, Washington, Trump said: “Hillary hurt many women — the women that [Bill] abused.
“And just remember this — she was an unbelievably nasty, mean enabler, and what she did to a lot of those women is disgraceful. Some of those women were destroyed not by him, but by the way that Hillary Clinton treated them after everything went down.”
Where to even start?
With the fact that women are not responsible for her husband’s actions?
With the fact that women don’t “enable” men to have affairs? (Affairs tend to be the kind of thing men have despite their wives’ wishes.)
Or, while we’re on the subject of what is and isn’t hurtful to women, how about Trump’s own approach to women?
In the past, Trump has described women that he doesn’t like as “fat pigs”, “dogs”, “slobs” and “disgusting animals”. And when Fox News’ Megyn Kelly pointed this out to him, he described her as a “bimbo”.
When a lawyer (facing Trump in court in 2011) asked for a break to pump breastmilk for her infant daughter, Trump reportedly leapt up and said, “You’re disgusting, you’re disgusting”.
He also once posted the tweet: “If Hillary can’t satisfy her husband, what makes her think she can satisfy America?”
Yes, this man is actually running for President.
