If you’ve been out and about in Sydney today you might have noticed some rather exciting information … that’s popped up on the side of bus shelters.
The award-winning musical The Book of Mormon – created by South Park visionaries Trey and Matt Stone which has been playing exclusively in Melbourne since February, looks set to be coming in Sydney.
The ads on the side of shelters around the city reads:
The Mormons Are Coming, and urges readers to visit bookofmormonmusical.com.au to find out more.
“The ads went up today,” publicist for the blockbuster Broadway musical Ian Phipps told Marie Claire. “It might be coming,” he added, in a cagey voice that suggested it most certainly was.
The musical has set records in ticket sales all over the world and has been awarded nine Tony Awards, one of which was for Best Musical, and a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. It also picked up the Best Musical gong at last month’s Helpmann Awards.

Phipps urges Sydneysiders to visit bookofmormonmusical.com.au and sign up to the show’s newsletter, registering their interest. No dates have been confirmed.
“Keep your eyes open,” he added mysteriously. *Frantically drinks 73 cups of coffee*
