Anya Taylor-Joy Has Mastered The Art Of Talk Show Dressing

The ‘Last Night In Soho’ star is a modern day mod.

The perennially stylish Anya Taylor-Joy is nailing 1960’s glamour in the Last Night In Soho press tour, turning not just one, but four iconic looks at various promotional events.

Taylor-Joy’s eclectic style is widely lauded by the industry. The 25-year-old actress has been recognised as the 2021 Face of the Year by the highly prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America and was recently announced as the latest brand ambassador for luxury legacy French maison Christian Dior.

Earlier this year, Taylor-Joy stepped out in numerous custom gowns that have since been revered by her contemporaries and fans alike.

Most notably, her Marilyn Monroe inspired satin bubblegum pink ensemble at the Venice Film Festival (styled by celebrity stylist Law Roach who recently worked with Zendaya) and show-stopping backless canary yellow dress at the Emmy Awards.

Now, Taylor-Joy is taking cues from her Last Night In Soho character Sadie, transforming herself into a modern day mod in full swinging sixties style.

In the last 24 hours alone, Taylor-Joy has showcased four different takes on the classic designs, including an A-line lilac two piece skirt and bow adorned bustier (complete with mauve opera gloves), a vibrant tangerine peplum bubble mini dress, a bronze gown that rivals that of Studio 54 icons and a custom Richard Quinn halterneck jumpsuit.

The latter, which Taylor-Joy donned for her appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, showcased her enviable figure and timeless glamour, finishing the look with a 60’s style headband and Twiggy-esque makeup. The floral blue and black print was taken directly from Quinn’s acclaimed runway at London Fashion Week.

Over at The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Taylor-Joy’s iconic Oscar De La Renta dress equaled that of a contemporary Malibu Barbie—a departure from the dark roles and costumes that we’re used to seeing Taylor-Joy portray.

Given the press junkets are in full swing (the Dune and Eternal red carpets are the gift that keeps on giving), we’re sure this is only the start of Taylor-Joy’s talk show reign. We can’t wait to see what’s next from the certified style icon.
