Australians may be facing the third year of a wet girl summer courtesy of our favourite chaotic weather pattern La Niña, however the impending forecast is not stopping us from lusting over summer fashion that we’ll eventually get to wear once the temperatures rise.
Of course, not only is the recent international fashion weeks proving to be the perfect choice of sartorial inspiration, but the celebrity style set across both sides of the pond are letting their hair down and showcasing the best styles of the season.
The latest A-lister to pique our interest? Angelina Jolie.
It’s fair to say that Jolie is in her comeback era, with her recent red carpet appearances to promote Marvel’s Eternals proving her penchant for boundary pushing and headline-making designs.
But off the red carpet, Jolie’s style choices are just as favourable.
While running errands with her son Knox, Jolie stepped out in a white no-frills summer frock that is proving to be the cold weather reprieve we didn’t know we needed.
In photos, which you can view for yourself here, Jolie is making a case for the white summer dress to be a trans-seasonal staple in everyone’s wardrobe.
Thankfully for us, Angelina’s sleeveless wrap dress, with a deliciously draping V-neckline, is available to purchase.
We’re not sure about you, but we’re already in silly season outfit planning mode.

Plus, with the dresses ability to be styled up or down, depending on the occasion, investing in this everyday number may be the most stylish purchase we’ve made.
If it’s good enough for Angelina, it’s good enough for us.
As for how we’d style the dress?
Besides taking cues from Angelina’s dressed down approach—albeit luxurious considering she’s wearing Valentino Garavani sandals and a Dior Montaigne bag—we’d plan on taking a slight more elevated approach.
As the runways of both Afterpay Australian Fashion Week and Copenhagen Fashion Week proved, macrame and woven crochet styles are the look du jour, so we’ll be taking a leaf out of the mer-core bible and accessorising this not-so-basic-basic with a netted belt.
Very Saks Potts meets Wynn Hamlin, very chic.
The only thing that would complete this summer-ready ensemble? A spot of sunshine.
DJ, cue George Harrison: here comes the sun… we hope.
